Description:

Most of the traditional fishery resources of the oceans are extensively exploited. As a result, standing stocks and catch per unit effort of many species are declining. The principal under-exploited resources of the world oceans are squids, some offshore pelagic nonschooling fish species, and Antarctic krill.
