Description:

The Total Surface Energy Station (TSES) was established in 1965 through a grant from the National Science Foundation. The research objectives under which TSES is operated include the establishment of the climatology of the various components of the energy balance for the primary vegetative cover in central Missouri. In spite of the abundance crop land and woodland in central Missouri, meadows remain the dominant vegetation of the area.
