• Description:
  A survey ofNew Jersey's inshore surf clam resource was conducted. A total of326 stations were sampled from June 8, 1994 through August 12, 1994. A commercial hydraulic clam dredge equipped with a 72-inch knife was used to determine clam abundance at each station. Surf clam population structure was determined by measuring clams from a one bushel subsample of the catch per station and constructing length frequency distributions. Juvenile set was monitored by collecting 0.1 square meter Petersen grab samples from each station.
