Description:The passage of the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 increased the demand for pertinent, up-to-date information on stocks using the coastal estuaries. Guidelines under the Act require that each species be managed throughout its range. A multi-species bottom trawl survey was reinstated by the Division of Fish and Wildlife to provide necessary fisheries independent data for the Delaware Bay. The objective of this program is to provide relative abundance and distribution information on the stocks using Delaware Bay.
