Description:The fall of 1999 saw an unprecedented mortality event that affected all of the western Sound, spreading east into the central Sound. Following that event, catch and effort trends in the New York State lobster fishery have changed. This report describes the information collected from fishermen's harvest records and New York State's at sea observer program for American lobsters for the study period encompassing July 1, 2000 - June 30, 2001.
