Description:Survey operations were conducted in the western North Atlantic Ocean along the U.S. Gulf of Mexico coast (Figure 1 ). OBJECTIVES 1) Conduct a study to assess the distribution and abundance of coastal sharks, red snapper (Lutjanus campechanus) and grouper. 2) Collect biological and environmental data with a conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensor at survey sites. 3) Tag and release sharks.
