The NODC maintains the world’s largest archive of historical ocean data. It provides data and information management support for major global ocean research programs. Through international ocean data exchange programs it enhances the ocean data record available to climate change and other researchers worldwide. Each year it provides ocean data and information to thousands ofusers in government, academia, business, and the general public, both in the United States and around the world.
