Description:On the evening of June 14, 1990, severe flash flooding occurred on Wegee and Pipe Creeks near Shadyside, a community on the Ohio River in southeast Ohio. A synoptic situation developed over the Ohio Valley which was typical for June, but a series of events, mostly mesoscale in nature, focused over the headwaters of Wegee and Pipe Creeks the evening of June 14 to produce catastrophic consequences.
