Description:"The 51st SAW Assessment Summary Report contains summary and detailed technical information on three stock assessments reviewed in November-December 2010 at the Stock Assessment Workshop (SAW) by the 51st Stock Assessment Review Committee (SARC-51): Silver Hake (also called whiting; Merluccius bilinearis), Longfin Inshore Squid (Loligo pealeii), Red Hake (commonly known as ling; Urophycis chuss) and Offshore Hake (also known as whiting or black-eye whiting; Merluccius albidus). The SARC-51 consisted of 3 external, independent reviewers appointed by the Center for Independent Experts (CIE) and an external SARC chairman from the New England Fishery Management Council Science and Statistics Committee (NEFMC SSC). The SARC evaluated whether each Term of Reference (listed in the Appendix) was completed successfully based on whether the work provided a scientifically credible basis for developing fishery management advice. The reviewers' reports for SAW/SARC-51 are available at website: http://www.nefsc.noaa.gov/nefsc/saw/ under the heading 'SARC 51 Panelist Reports'"--Introd.
