Description:

The 1994 amendments to the Marine Mammal Protection Act require specifying a minimum abundance estimate, N[subscript MIN], and a recovery factor, F[subscript R], to calculate a potential biological removal level, PBR. A two-step strategy is proposed for selecting values for N[subscript MIN] and F[subscript]R, using computer simulations.
