Description:

The 1994 amendments to the Marine Mammal Protection Act require specifying a minimum abundance estimate, Nsubscript MIN, and a recovery factor, Fsubscript R, to calculate a potential biological removal level, PBR. A two-step strategy is proposed for selecting values for Nsubscript MIN and FsubscriptR, using computer simulations.
