  This report summarizes data for the 1981 United States North Pacific albacore fishery. The data were obtained primarily from voluntary logbooks and interviews of albacore fishermen and port sampling of catches at U.S. landing ports. Cooperating groups involved in collection of these logbooks, length-frequency statistics, and conducting interviews include California Department of Fish and Game, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife,Washington Department of Fisheries, Pacific Marine Fisheries Commission, and Western Fishboat Owners Association. Data for foreign albacore fisheries were contributed by scientists from Canada, Japan, and Taiwan.
