Description:"This report describes the creation and assessment of a shallow-water benthic habitat map of southwest Puerto Rico, including the regions of Guánica/La Parguera and Finca Belvedere. The Guánica work was conducted by NOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, Center for Coastal Monitoring and Assessment's (CCMA), Biogeography Branch as a component of a baseline assessment in support of watershed restoration efforts in the Guánica Bay watershed. The Guánica Bay project represents a collaborative effort between multiple agencies including CCMA, NOAA's Coral Reef Conservation Program and Restoration Center, U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resource and Conservation Service, and the Center for Watershed Protection. In addition, the work was conducted in coordination with and support by the NOAA Fisheries Caribbean Field Office, which is working to characterize the marine environment adjacent to two natural reserves, the Bosque Estatal de Guánica and the Reserva Natural Finca Belvedere"--About this document.
