"A study was conducted to determine the effects of three mosquito control marsh management techniques on selected parameters of the ecology of a Distichlis spicata/Spartina patens dominated marsh in Somerset County, Maryland. The three water management techniques evaluated were: (1) open plot - ditches coupled to the estuary to allow unrestricted tidal exchange; (2) water control - structures placed in the outlet ditches to restrict tidal exchange; and (3) closed - not connected to the estuary by ditches. Two unditched areas served as controls."--Leaf iii.
