Faced with the demise of traditional stocks of groundfish, more stringent management of the fisheries in general and increased competition from overseas, Deep Sea International, with the assistance of a government FIG grant, is attempting to enhance its compditiveness by developing alternative markets and products that utilize underutilized species and add/or value to existing fisheries.
