• Description:
  This grant was initiated to provide a wetlands restoration coordinator for the State of Virginia. The position will work to reduce a large backlog of wetland restoration projects for which funding has already been secured. The coordinator has been responsible for surveying, design, permitting, and construction oversight on each project. These projects have typically involved the reclamation of Prior Converted (PC) croplands to moist soil management impoundments. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries has targeted and achieved the restoration of over 200 acres in the Chesapeake Bay drainage during the term of this contract.
