Description:Welcome to the 2025 LEO Science Digest, the annual publication from the Office of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Observations. Originally known as the JPSS Science Digest, the publication highlights the broad applications and benefits of LEO observations supported by NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). The Office of LEO Observations manages two major NOAA satellite programs: the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS), our foundational program that will exist well into the 2030s, and the Near Earth Orbit Network (NEON), our next generation program that will implement future LEO architecture beyond JPSS.
