Description:United States coastal counties are exposed to a variety of environmental hazards, such as coastal and inland flooding, erosion, wildfire, and coastal storms. The National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) conducts place-based integrated community risk assessments to help coastal counties understand their unique risks (Fleming et al., 2017; Fleming et al., 2024; Fleming et al., 2020). In 2024, NCCOS scientists began their seventh community risk assessment for Maine’s Washington County and Greater East Grand Region.
