Description:The Tiny Remote-sensing Instrument for Thermospheric Oxygen and Nitrogen (TRITON) is being developed by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) for detection of neutral components of the daytime thermosphere. TRITON measures naturally occurring, far ultraviolet (FUV) emissions of the upper atmosphere that are produced as a result of solar excitation.
