Description:The Office of Coast Survey (OCS) maintains a technical document known as the Hydrographic Survey Specifications and Deliverables (HSSD). This technical document provides OCS members and contractors a detailed description of everything related to hydrographic surveying. In the past, OCS would request the Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS) support to maintain and update chapter 4 titled Tides and Water Level Requirements. However, for FY2023, OCS streamlined the HSSD and ultimately removed chapter 4. In order to prevent the loss of information, CO-OPS extracted chapter 4 from the HSSD 2022 and created this document. The specs contained have been updated to reflect current technical specifications for short-term stations and will be used by CO-OPS members, partners, and contractors to understand those specific requirements laid forth in this document. This document will not be updated in the future when technical specifications are changed or newly established.
