Description:Since 1978, the staff of the National Sea Grant College Program has prepared annually a series of reports which include discussion on the status of each program area, descriptions of major achievements and opportunities, problem areas or weaknesses, and a listing of projects receiving funding in the last fiscal year. These reports were known as annual retreat reports because they were originally prepared in association with the Sea Grant office retreats. Initially, these reports were written for internal office use but they proved useful throughout the year in communications about Sea Grant to a wide audience. The reports were therefore published as a collection in one volume. This year, the name of the volume was changed to the National Sea Grant College Program Annual Report, thus reflecting the true content.
