Description:There was virtually unanimous agreement on the highest priority information and research needs for the Alaskan region. Problems associated with present polluting, or potentially polluting, activities took precedence. Many of these needs cut across Alaskan regional boundaries, except where particular sources are geographically biased. The highest priority was assigned to the need to consolidate, analyze, and make accessible much of the extant but dispersed information presently available. Other high priorities were concerned with transportation (mainly oil pollution), and fish processing and urban liquid wastes.
