Description:The tuna industry and the Federal Government sponsored the tuna seiner M/V Queen Mary during 1978 as a research platform for studies related to the tuna/porpoise problem. Between September 12 and October 31, 1978, the Qh een Mary carried the Porpoise School Impoundment System (PSIS) to te eastern tropical Pacific to conduct porpoise stock assessment research.
