Description:NOAA's Office of Undersea Research provides scientific support for a wide range of projects that involve in-situ research supporting NOAA's mission. Most of that support goes to a network of six regional centers that provide submersibles, remotely operated vehicles, and diving support to academic scientists with research projects that require in-situ capabilities to gather data. In addition, the Office of Undersea Research supports projects that involve research outside the scope of a single regional center. These projects may require deep-diving submersibles, international activities, diving safety, or undersea technology.
