Description:"The 42nd SAW Assessment Summary Report contains summary and detailed technical information on the three assessments and one multispecies predator prey model reviewed in November/December 2005 at the Stock Assessment Workshop (SAW) by the 42nd Stock Assessment Review Committee (SARC-42): silver hake (Merluccius bilinearis), Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus), northern shortfin squid (Illex illecebrosus) and the MSVPA-X model. The SARC-42 consisted of three external, independent reviewers and a SARC chairman, all appointed by the Center for Independent Experts. The SARC evaluated whether each Term of Reference (listed in the Appendix) was completed successfully based on scientific criteria and whether the work provided a scientifically credible basis for developing fishery management advice"--Introduction.
