Description:A whimsical, yet serious look at the events, technology advances and people of the past 50 years in geodetic surveying as seen through the eyes of one who traveled the road, all the way. The period is divided into three segments: Dawn of a New Era 1940 - 1950; Break with the Past 1950 - 1970, and New Age of Geodesy Begins 1970 - 1990. Each contains synopses of major happenings, anecdotes of the time and names of some of the people directly involved in the events. (C&GS) and (NOAA) following names indicate the persons were members of the commission officer corps.
