Description:While many studies of urban runoff have been conducted, they have generally been highly site-specific and have rarely addressed the full range of pollutants of interest in the National Coastal Pollutant Discharge Inventory (NCPDI). Urban runoff loadings generated over a broad area and extended time frame have not, and cannot, be estimated directly from these site-specific measured flows_ and concentrations. Rather, the method chosen will require the generalization of data to a large scale in order to encompass all urban land in the East Coast study area.
