Description:In 1998, the National Marine Fisheries Service continued two principal research projects related to smolt transportation: an assessment of survival benefits for steelhead smolts released at Tongue Point in the upper estuary vs. those released at Skamania Light, the standard release site, and an evaluation of transportation vs. inriver migration of spring/summer chinook salmon smolts at Lower Granite Dam.
