Description:Each year about forty citizens donate their time to monitoring water quality in Rhode Island's coastal salt ponds to assess whether conditions are getting better or worse. The information that is generated is used by state agencies for management decisions, by local municipalities for planning and zoning decisions and by researchers at the university and local high schools. This manual is intended to provide a clear picture of what is being monitored and clear instructions as to how to take samples for a variety of water quality measurements.
