Description:Commerical catch of striped bass has sharply declined in recent years; the hybrid (a cross between striped and white bass) may provide a better fish, hardy and fast growing. This manual, designed for laymen, provides procedures for producing market-size hybrids. It describes how to collect broodstock, cross-fertilize the eggs, manage the larvae, and tend the fingerlings. Information on feed; diseases; pond preparation, structure, and water quality; equipment; and marketing is provided. Also included are tables for determining the economics of raising hybrids.
