Description:The scope and pace of NOAA's OTEC Ocean Engineering Research and Technology Development Program are based on Department of Energy (DOE) objectives and priorities for research and development needs. It is concerned with resolving the major research issues in high technical risk areas. NOAA reduces technology risk and uncertainty by conducting generic ocean engineering research and performing at-sea experiments of critical subsystems. The NOAA Research and Technology Development Program provides a technology information base that can assist the private sector in future development of OTEC systems.
