Description:In this manual we will show and subjectively interpret hourly-interval, time-height cross sections of wind profiler data as well as constant-height data plots from several sites, to demonstrate the known capabilities of profiler data in cool-season forecasting. As will be seen, the primary value of profiler data is their use in complementing other forecast information, including traditional surface and upper-air analyses as well as satellite and radar data.
