Description:"The goal of the workshop was to characterize the current state of the science regarding the nature of the associations between genetic variation and run timing in Chinook salmon and steelhead. The study of the genetics of life-history variation as a whole, as well as run timing specifically, continues to advance at a rapid pace, so we did not expect that it would be possible to obtain definitive scientific conclusions. Nevertheless, the published studies, as well as unpublished data, are already starting to influence conservation decisions, so it is important to understand the current results and develop strategies to help guide future research"--Introduction.
