Description:Genetics and differences in physiological performance among genotypes of coral species have been of particular interest recently in coral reef restoration endeavors as a means of optimizing restoration efforts. Dose-response profiles for three genotypes of the Endangered Species Act listed Caribbean coral Acropora cervicornis (staghorn coral) were compared when exposed to copper (II) chloride, a common marine toxicant. Results indicate differential responses in photosynthetic activity and wound healing among the three genotypes tested.
