Description:"The Pacific sardine resource is assessed each year in support of the Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) process of stipulating annual harvest specifications for the U.S. fishery. This report serves as a full stock assessment for purposes of advising management for the 2017-18 fishing year. Presently, the assessment/management schedule for Pacific sardine is based on a full assessment conducted every three years, with an update assessment conducted in the interim years. A full stock assessment was conducted in 2014 (Hill et al. 2014; STAR 2014) and update assessments were completed in 2015 and 2016 (Hill et al. 2015, 2016)"--Preface.
