"The goal of this study is to document the site and instrumentation of old Fort Ripley. This period begins when the fort is under construction in 1849 and ends when the fort is abandoned in 1877. Monitoring sites near the city of Fort Ripley after 1877 will be part of an appendix at the end of the report. Existing meteorological forms and historical documents will be studied and a site visit to the current Ft. Ripley site will be preformed"--Introduction
