Description:"Recent improvements in NWP are due in part to a number of factors such as improved resolution, analysis, and physics, e.g., gravity wave drag, cloud and convection specification, to name a few. However, in spite of improvement NWP models still have significant errors, some of which occur systematically. Described in this presentation is a method to correct for such systematic errors as well as some options for the disposition of the output of statistically modified model forecasts"--Introduction.
