    "In May 1979, at the request of the Narragansett Town Council, members of the University of Rhode Island Coastal Resources Center (CRC) met with the town council to discuss assistance that the Center might provide to the town in assessing the potential for enhancing recreational fisheries in Lake Canonchet ... In this study the Coastal Resources Center [h]as attempted to answer the following questions: 1. What species support recreational fishing in Lake Canonchet? 2. What species, including those not directly taken in recreational fishing, presently inhabit Lake Canonchet? 3. Can the existing recreational fishery of Lake Canonchet be enhanced by management techniques? 4. What are the characteristics of the lands immediately bordering on Lake Canonchet (vegetations, wetlands, etc.) and how do they relate to necessary management programs and recreational access to and use of the area? 5. What are the other potential recreational uses of Lake Canonchet?"--Page 1-2.
