Description:In this multi-faceted study, we address several key research questions: (1) When comparing Tornado Vortex Signature (TVS) detections across varying parameter configurations, can the effective detection range be extended? (2) Do TVS detections provide measurable positive lead time relative to confirmed tornado occurrence? (3) Are detections consistently and accurately captured by nearby radars observing the same event? and (4) How do updated Volume Coverage Pattern (VCP) sampling strategies influence TVS detection performance? VCPs 212 and 215 now include the option to use the Multi-PRF Dealiasing Algorithm (MPDA), providing enhanced velocity quality, in addition to VCP 112. Note: for the purposes of this study, a "TVS" is a Tornado Vortex detection as defined by the NEXRAD Level III NTV product only.
