This preliminary study investigates the reliability of the WSR-88D's Tornado Detection Algorithm (TDA) in detecting Tornado Vortex Signatures (TVSs) beyond the current operational range limit of approximately 100 km, extending the maximum pattern vector range to the algorithm's original design limit of 230 km.
