Description:The socioeconomic component of the National Coral Reef Monitoring Program tracks human dimensions indicators across U.S. coral reef jurisdictions, including coral reef use and residents' knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of reefs and reef management. These data support NOAA's Coral Reef Conservation Program in monitoring social and economic trends, informing management and outreach efforts, and assessing changes in coral reef-dependent communities over time. This report presents findings from the second socioeconomic monitoring cycle in the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) (the first monitoring cycle was completed in 2017). The household survey was conducted in person from February to April 2025. The second cycle results are representative of the USVI resident population as a whole and island strata of St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas.
