Description:

The Interjurisdictional Fisheries Management Support Program has been operating since 1988. Prior to 1992, the program had two components: Fisheries Technology and Fisheries Communication. Although the these components were separate, they were consolidated to work together on a number of common objectives. The evolution of the program into a single entity reinforces the commitment of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries to the priority of fisheries technology and the utilization of this field as a means to further the conservation of the fishery resources and support sound fisheries management practices.
