Unfortunately, many of the basic component of fish ecology, including growth and diet (Cushing 1981), remain undefined for most Ohio River fishes. This study attempted to explain growth relationships, identify the forage base, and define physiological variables of metabolism for several common Ohio River sport fishes (Table 1).
