Description:Projected population increases will result in severe food shortages for the world community; and therefore, it is imperative that new sources of food be located. An area that holds great potential as a food source is the marine environment. Marine scientists are involved in research to develop techniques to increase food production from the sea. One such technique that may hold promise as a new food source is aquaculture.
