  This document presents the Office of Modeling and Development’s (OMD) Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML) Strategy (2026-2031). It represents a high-level plan for integrating AI technology into its operations over the next three to five years to enhance environmental predictions. Artificial Intelligence serves as the umbrella term for machines capable of mimicking human intelligence, within which Machine Learning (ML) exists as a core subset dedicated to algorithms that improve automatically through experience.
