Description:The Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR) developed a trip level reporting regulation for licensed dealers. DMR staff worked with primary buyers (dealers that buy directly from harvesters) to switch them from reporting monthly summary information to trip level data. The enforcement of this regulation will take place beginning January 1, 2008, during the next grant segment. This program eliminates the duplicative reporting between DMR and other Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program (ACCSP) partners, standardizes the data collected, and helps to consolidate the landings data set for all Atlantic coastal fisheries into one database.
