Description:The results of program activities over the previous ten years indicate this is an opportune time to restore anadromous fish to the Androscoggin River watershed. Improved habitat conditions, water quality, the presence of a diverse resident fish community, and evidence that it is ecologically feasible to restore native species such as American shad and river herring, indicate that the health of the ecosystem has improved. The new and existing tools utilized to restore the river have proven effective.
