Description:This project aimed to demonstrate long endurance autonomous exploration using multi-robot teams. The project culminated in a 10-day long field demonstration on the Cascadia Margin (Carbonate Ridge) consisting of a Wave Glider tending and providing navigational aiding to a Seaglider. The demonstration included repeated profiles over seafloor targets as determined by the remote operator-controlled position of the Wave Glider. Vessels were used for launch and recovery of the vehicles only and did not remain on station during the demonstration. The system represents a proof-ofconcept for ship-less long-range exploration.
