Description:Scientific Services Division, Southern Region has previously found a useful relationship between Manually Digitized Radar (MDR) storm totals and the maximum observed rainfall for a storm. In long duration heavy rainfall events, they have found a 1:10 ratio between inches of rainfall (maximum) in an MDR grid box and the corresponding total of MDR values for the rainfall event.
