Description:Green sea urchin fisheries are in global decline, and Massachusetts and New Hampshire, the only other New England states to have had commercial urchin fisheries, no longer participate. Maine landings have declined from about 18,000 annual metric tons in the 1990s to about 1,000 metric tons in 2022 (Figure 3).
