Description:During the summer when thunderstorms have higher tops and stronger intensities 99 percent of the CG lightning strikes are negative. Positive CG lightning are usually associated with weaker or embedded thunderstorms. We define the rate of strikes as the number of cloud to ground lightning strikes in 10 minutes.
